 Title: Part Time, EVENING Computer (Excel/Word)/Administrative Professional Instructor 

Classification: Workforce Education 

Assignment: Instructs Microsoft Office Courses 

Reports to: Adult Education Director

 Position Overview: 

The part-time, evening Computer Instructor (Excel/Word) teaching Word I & II, Excel I & II /Administrative Professional Instructor and reports to Adult Education Director. 

Instructor will teach procedures and theory of office procedures from the dynamics in the workplace to responsibilities of an administrative professional along with student achieving certifications in excel, word, and online customer service program. 

 Job Functions: 

  • Instructs the number of hours and classes required. 
  •  Instructs all classes following the course objectives and standards from class curriculum already created 
  • Develops course materials including, but not limited to presentations, quizzes, handouts, tests as needed 
  • Maintains all certifications required to perform job and submit copies to the Adult Director. 
  • Updates lesson plans and syllabi as requested by the Adult Education Director. 
  • Demonstrates genuine concern for students’ needs; exercises fairness. 
  • Examines and evaluates own teaching competence. Provides students an opportunity to evaluate instructor’s performance. 
  • Instructs classes as scheduled by the Adult Education Director. 
  • Completes all required course paperwork and submits to the Adult Education Director for record keeping. Submits required information accurately and for the appropriate deadline. 

 Requirements: 

  • Experience working with computer software (EX: Excel/Word) 
  • High School Diploma 
  • Two (2) years field experience 
  • Current Ohio Department of Education teaching certificate (apply for after employment) 
  • Completes BCI/FBI Background Check (this can be done at Maplewood) 
  • Provides yearly BCII check no later than June 1st of each year. 
  • Proficient in all Windows based programs, any computer programs and software 
  • Appropriate phone and email communication skills.
