POSITION TITLE:  Licensed School-Based Therapist

DEPARTMENT/PROGRAM:   Counseling

REPORTS TO: Clinical Supervisor

SCHEDULE:   Full Time and Part Time available

 

 

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

The students and school staff we serve depend on us to help students address personal challenges ranging from the day to day pressures at home and school to dealing with technology and social media outlets as well as potential substance use. You will develop relationships with school counselors, administrators and teachers, while supporting students in and out of the classroom.

 

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with school administration to provide appropriate services to students and school staff
Provide a welcoming atmosphere of trust, acceptance      and hope
Display respect for cultural differences,  beliefs and values, while integrating information related to cultural  traditions and values into each client’s unique and individualized treatment.
Conduct individual and small group counseling
Conduct assessments and evaluations to establish appropriate treatment goals and objectives for clients
Plan, implement and evaluate treatment  plans that incorporate evidenced based practice that is appropriate for      each client.
Provide guidance to facilitate clients’  normal growth and development, and aid in their understanding of their      treatment plan and diagnosis, if appropriate.
Demonstrate knowledge of current standards for case notes and timeliness
Demonstrate appropriate de-escalation skills
Excellent group facilitation skills
Ongoing consultation with our team comprised of therapists and medical staff
Complies with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements,  and educational/certification/registry  requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong diagnostic skills and knowledge of effective behavioral intervention strategies
Excellent communication skills  and relationship-building skills to help work with the client, parents      and/or guardian, as well as referral sources
Valid Ohio Driver’s License and ability to meet  agency requirements for driving insurability if applicable.
Must be able to meet agency requirements for  criminal back ground check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation) if applicable.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s Degree Required. LISW, LPC or LPCC licensure required

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Experience providing therapy to children and families preferred
